Bicycle face
How do we make the world better? It may sound farfetched but for girls in Bangladesh, learning how to ride a bike is closely connected to the ability to move around freely and can, in the long run, drastically reduce the likelihood of these girls falling victim to child marriage.
This campaign is only one step on a long journey for Diakonia. But that’s how we build a better world: bicycle by bicycle.

Which “human right” could you do without?
Which basic human right could you do without? Food on the table? The right to go to school? Access to clean water? All alternatives are, in our eyes, necessary to live a decent life. But the fact is that if Sweden reduces foreign aid, lots of people in the world will lose one or more of these basic human rights. We relished the opportunity to work and make a difference for Diakonia, whose work and dedication makes a difference for so many.

Changers
We are experiencing new times and new directions on how to live our lives. Every day we need to think about options that we, up until recently, we never have had to face. How to be a good citizen, how to stay healthy, keep you salary and how to help others. Diakonia wanted to communicate the urgency in helping developing countries during the pandemic. With the aim to inspire people to contribute to change, we wanted shine a light on the fact that we all need to help.
We based our overall concept and communication around the fact and feeling that change is a privilege. Own a privilege to be able to change and embrace your privilege.
To many people around the world, the global guidelines established by WHO to help reduce the spread of Covid-19, are completely absurd. By using footage från people's everyday life - in places close to us and in countries far away - we wanted to show how important it is to widen our perspective. We believe we can actually bring people closer together, although the geographical distance may have never been wider than now.

I stand behind
To shine a light on the different challenges the world is facing, we partnered up with artist Munira Yussuf. It was a collaboration that illustrated the different areas that Diakonia is active within. By putting actual people behind our illustrations, we wanted to visualize the statement that we are all standing behind Diakonia and their mission to make the world a better place.
Diakonia has a general framework for the strategic work within the six themes of human rights, democratization, social and economic justice, gender equality, conflict and justice and emergency response and disaster resilience.

Black friday
What’s a good deal on a parka compared to helping thousands of people in Paraguay. In this “anti” Black Friday campaign we compared black friday deals to actions that really matter, in areas where Diakonia is trying to make a difference. Make a deal that matters on black friday.
